There was a man
in the dark
sitting on the sidewalk
tasting nothing
hearing nothing
feeling cold
He closed his eyes
and tasted something sweet
saw something beautiful
felt something warm -
but still hearing nothing
He stands up
and walks away
He looks back
every so often
but keeps moving forward.
